Mark’s fundraising story

Mark in his FLF top

Mark is soon to be embarking on a challenging walk across the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. It is around 540 miles and will take him an estimated 52 days. Along the way, Mark will be staying in mountain huts and has promised to take lots of photos so we can track his trek!

The motivation to take on this challenge is due to a close family friend’s son living with follicular lymphoma. Thankfully, he is currently well and got married last year, and earlier this year he welcomed a new baby to the family.

Mark is a semi-retired lawyer and part-time sheriff, living with his wife in Edinburgh. They have two grown-up children living in London and have recently become proud grandparents. He has always been interested in the outdoors, particularly trekking and climbing and has successfully completed many of the long-distance routes in Scotland.

We are incredibly grateful to Mark for his outstanding efforts in fundraising for the FLF and wish his much luck for a safe and successful challenge.

Mark hopes to raise awareness of FL and most importantly, gain lots of donations for the FLF contributing to our mission to find better treatments and a cure for FL.

We cannot thank Mark enough for this spectacular effort for the FLF and we wish him lots of luck in his endeavours. Keep a look out on our website and on our social media for updates as he wends his way, and of course if you wish to donate, please go to Mark’s Just Giving page by clicking here.
