My name is Buddy Morsello, and I bring a story of hope and determination.
I recently overcame stage 4 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (follicular) and moved to Los Angeles CA from OH. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed from colon cancer, and my father is a lymphoma survivor too.
I believe that overcoming cancer is very inspirational. I’m living proof (among others) that cancer can be a doorway as opposed to a wall.
My battle with stage four Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma gave me the inspiration to create music.
The song describes how I felt after a diagnosis and the inspiration to follow your dreams in spite of extreme hardship. While “Call My Name” holds a lot of deeper meanings, it’s designed to be upbeat, encouraging listeners to dance.
Even the best things and the worst things all have two sides, the good and the bad. So the negativity of the cancer diagnosis to the point of dancing, welcoming troubles, because they’re gonna come anyway and trying to dance through them.
Please help me make “Call My Name,” an anthem for everyone going through cancer. From patients, families and friends; so many are affected after a diagnosis. That’s my ultimate goal, and was the inspiration for the song.
