My name is John Armitage and I Iive in the UK. I am married and have two daughters and four grandchildren. In 2022 I was really ill following my flu jab. "The hardest part of chemo for me was the fatigue...."
During the second and third month of my chemo, I contracted pericarditis (inflammation of the hearts protective sack), and I was hospitalized on one occasion. “Accept help and stay positive.”
I would say that one of the biggest challenges is the reality of facing cancer without knowing the outcome. Luckily for me, I have been supported on my journey by my wife and family throughout. Unfortunately, my challenge continues as the cancer has now returned one year after completing chemotherapy.
The best advice I can give anyone who is facing the same difficult journey is to accept any help that you are offered, and to stay positive.
