Celebrating the success of our first webinar
Celebrating the success of our first webinar
On May 18th, the FLF hosted our very first webinar called “An Overview of Follicular Lymphoma: What You Need to Know.” The event was a great success with lots of enthusiastic participation by attendees from across the globe. We’d like to thank everyone that came, and especially those that contributed to the discussion.
The purpose of this webinar was to help people understand follicular lymphoma (FL) better, catering to patients, their families, friends, colleagues, and supporters. We welcomed people from all walks of life, with the aim that this educational opportunity was accessible to anyone interested.

Chief Medical Officer at the FLF, Dr Mitchell Smith, chaired the session, guiding participants through an interactive discussion. Dr Smith was joined by two distinguished speakers, Dr Jessica Okosun and Dr Brian Hill, who brought their expertise and knowledge to shed light on various aspects of follicular lymphoma.
This webinar session aims to help you understand the basics of FL, including:
- What is follicular lymphoma?
- How does it affect your body?
- How is FL diagnosed?
- What happens next, after diagnosis?
- What are the treatment options?
The webinar created an engaging environment where participants actively participated by asking questions live during the session. Additionally, we encouraged individuals to submit their queries in advance through the registration form, ensuring that we addressed as many concerns as possible. If you felt that your question was left unanswered and we haven’t been in touch with you directly, then please do reach out to us.
More webinars to come
In light of the success of our first webinar, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting additional webinars in the near future. We are currently planning sessions that delve deeper into specific aspects of follicular lymphoma. Stay tuned for updates on our website and social media channels as we unveil the details of these upcoming events.

Coronation Afternoon Tea Fundraiser
Carolyn recently held a Coronation Afternoon Tea at her workplace to raise money for Follicular Lymphoma. FLF is a charity close to her heart due to a family member having the disease.Â
Carolyn raised over £380 for the charity and advises others to “Just go for it!” when it comes to fundraising. Carolyn and her husband are also taking on the Cotsworld Ultra Challenge on the 24th /25th June.
